2- Register for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and Simple Storage Service (S3)

Another alternative is to download, install, and configure Cloudera Hadoop (CDH) from cloudera.com and go through the documentation. CDH is free to use for up to 50 servers, more than enough for someone learning at home or “on the cheap”.
